Gilbert Ballantine

Gilbert Ballantine (March 14 1961, Paramaribo, Suriname) is a retired Dutch kickboxer, Muay Thai boxer, karate champion and MMA fighter who has been known throughout his impressive career as “The Bullterrier”.

Gilbert has won many fights against the greatest muay thai champions across the world but has remained relatively unknown despite his unmatched fighting style, spectaculair fights and great achievements.

Yet, Gilbert has been a #1 world class muay thai champion and one of the best fighters who ever walked the earth.

Gilbert Ballantine started his martial arts career at a young age practicing judo, and whilst he had a talent for it he later began practicing karate.

Gilbert obviously had a talent for it since he became a multiple karate champion in Holland and even won an European championship.

In 1981 Gilbert started practicing kickboxing and Muay Thai. He has been an undefeated champion in Holland until 1989, won multiple European championships and has been a seven time Muay Thai Kickboxing World Champion.

Later in his career Gilbert became multiple times champion in free fight.

Alistair Overeem

Alistair OvereemAlistair “Demolition man” Overeem (Hounslow, 17th May 1980, England) is a Dutch kickboxer and MMA fighter who’s been one of two fighters in history whom have been champion in both MMA and K-1.

Alistair was born in England and moved to the Netherlands at the age of 6. As a youngster Alistair practiced different sports such as judo, athletics and basketball. At the age of 15 Alistaiir started training martial arts under supervision of Bas Rutten and others.


At the age of 17 Alistair fought his first kickboxing match and won the fight. It became apparent that Alistair had a talent for the sport as two years later at the age of 19 he won his first MMA fight against Ricardo Fyeet with a guillotine choke. Read more Alistair Overeem

Ernesto Hoost

Ernesto Hoost - high kickErnesto “Mr. Perfect” Hoost (Heemskerk, 11th July 1965, The Netherlands) is a Dutch kickboxer and 4 time champion of the famous K-1 tournament in Japan.

Ernesto got his middle name “Mr. Perfect” from his Japanese fans because his techniques were perfected as such.

At the age of 15 Ernesto started training boxing/kickboxing and fought his first matches. At this early stage it already became apparent that he had a talent for the sport as he defeated several opponents and quickly moved up to the A-classes. Read more Ernesto Hoost

Peter Aerts – The Lumberjack

Peter “Lumberjack” Aerts (Eindhoven, 25th 1970, The Netherlands) is a Dutch kickboxer and three time K-1 World Grand Prix Champion.

At the age of 19 he already was world heavy weight kickboxing champion.

In 1994 Peter became K-1 World champion for the first time.

Peter gained his 2nd and 3rd K-1 title in 1995 en 1998. In 1995 he became World Muay Thai Super Heavyweight Champion as well.

Peter got his nickname “Lumberjack” due to his devastating low kicks, a trademark of the Dutch style.

Bas Rutten

Bas “El Guapo” Rutten (Feb.24th 1965 Eindhoven, The Netherlands) is a Dutch MMA fighter and kickboxer who made name for himself
as the “king of Pancrase”.

Bas has been a three time King of Pancrase and one time UFC heavyweight champion.


In the early 1990’s Bas started with Pancrase in Japan. This fighting system has been the precursor of today’s popular MMA. Read more Bas Rutten

Ramon Dekkers

Ramon “Diamond” Dekkers (4-9-1969 / 27-2-2013) was an 8 time World Champion Muay Thai and Kickboxing.

In Thailand he was the best known and most respected foreign thaiboxer and has been the first foreigner that has gained the title Thaiboxer of the year.

In over 20 years Ramon has fought nearly 200 fights of which he won 175 and 90 by KO.’

Rob Kaman

Rob Kaman (June 5, 1960, Amsterdam, The Netherlands),nicknames “The Dutchman”, “Mister Low Kick”, is considered as one of the best kickboxers ever.

He is a 9 time World Muay Thai and Kickboxing champion; an accomplishment that still hasn’t been beaten by anyone.

Rob was feared for his devastating low kicks wich made him the most feared fighter of his era.

Rob started training Muay Thai at the famous Mejiro Gym in Amsterdam in 1978 under supervision of the late Jan Plas and more recently Andre Mannaart.

In 1980 Rob had become an A-class fighter in Holland and won most of his fights by KO.

His international breakthrough was his fight with Blinky Rodriquez which he won in the second round with a low kick to the leg. Read more Rob Kaman
